Our Journey to Texas

Saturday, January 22, 2011

January 1st 2011 was the last day we would be in Utah for a long time. Turns out it was the first day that was clear, roads were all dry and just waiting for us to embark on our journey. Our first stop on our three day drive would be Denver Colorado. When we got to Denver, Aaron’s sweet Aunt Jan had dinner waiting for us. It took us eight hours to get there. We traveled through some really beautiful country.

Here are some pictures from the drive:

The next day, we drove to Wichita Falls, Texas. It took us 13 hours to get there, and let me tell you driving in a car that long isn't all that fun. After we got there we stayed the night at a nice hotel and got a much needed nights rest after all that driving.

Here are some of the pictures on our drive to Wichita:

Texas roads are crazy weird and there are tons of highways that go through tiny little towns. Texas’ traffic lights are even weird, they are horizontal instead of vertical. After all the weird roads and sights we arrived at our new home in Conroe, Texas. Conroe is 30 minutes out Houston, Texas. It’s a nice town surrounded by trees and greenery, it’s really pretty.

This is our new home:

Our first week was unpacking all of our stuff and setting it all up. Aaron set up all his computer stuff for work and set to working. The other was me trying to get my schooling finalized. It is really tough trying to get in to generals classes one week before the semester starts. Anyway, that was our first week.
